We have the opportunity to again be part of a special ministry project, "Teenager Christmas" for kids ages 13-18. We are asking for donations of $20 gift cards (not to exceed $25 per card) the approved gift card locations include: Target, Walmart, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, Marshalls, Bath & Body Works and Local Fast Food Restaurants
Our church made this a very successful project last year, so let’s do it again this year.
The collection box is located in the Welcome area and is available thru November 30. Please indicate card’s value on each card donation.

First Kids ages 4yo - 6th grade are invited to join in the fun at Christmas Camp, Saturday, December 5th from
1-4pm. Kids will celebrate the season with chimes, art, movement, games, and drama! All will be done safely following social distancing guidelines. Limited spots are available so register fast!

Thank you for choosing Missions for Christmas!
In December, First United Methodist Church is hosting a Baby Shower Donation Drive benefiting Open Arms Pregnancy Center, a local ministry offering women pregnancy support and baby supplies for families. The urgent need is gift cards to Walmart or grocery stores. Mail gift cards to the church, attn. Kelli Mullinix. You may also donate items for newborns or very young babies (onesies, diapers, bottles, baby wipes, etc.) Drop-off at the church by December 13. The items will be blessed during both worship services on December 13.
The whole community is invited to bring their pets (on a leash or in a crate or container) to the Buncombe Street parking lot for a special Christmas blessing, caroling, and a live nativity. On December 13, at 2pm join us to hear the Christmas story from the animals’ perspective. Bring donations of pet food, to be delivered to IAM for clients’ pets. Let friends and neighbors know they’re invited!

ONLINE Christmas Eve Ignite worship and Traditional worship services will be available all day on Christmas Eve. The services will feature music, a prayer for Christmas Eve, Luke’s account of the Christmas story, a heart-warming message, the gorgeous decorations in the sanctuary and BCLC, lots of carols to sing along to, and candlelight.
AN IN-PERSON OUTDOOR Christmas Caroling and Candlelight gathering in the Buncombe Street parking lot will begin at 5:00 p.m. This brief casual gathering will include the Christmas story, singing of carols, and candle lighting as we sing “Silent Night” together. Social distancing will be maintained; participants may stay in their cars or join the group standing in designated places. Friends and family are welcome.
Our Bishop, Paul Leeland, and musicians and leaders across the Conference will lead a special Christmas season service on the first Sunday after Christmas. Bishop Leeland will preach a special message for us as we conclude this year and look forward to a new one. There will be no in-person worship at FUMC on December 17th. The service will be streamed on our webpage and our Facebook Live page.
Three times a week on Monday/Wednesday/Friday, our senior pastor, Karen Easter-Bayne will be sharing 3.-5 minute, family devotionals.
