  • film and faith

    "Film and Faith" groups with Pastor Karen.  A virtual even, Sundays 3-4:30 pm on September 27, October 11, October 25 and November 8.  This first series will be  collection of 4 videos on racial equity and discussion from the perspective of our Christian Faith:  "White Fragility", "13", "Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man," and "White Savior".  Register here!

    Join First United for our new worship series, Sept. 20-Oct. 11:  “Overflow.”  We will celebrate the overflowing, abundant, everlasting goodness and provision of God and our grateful response.  It will be uplifting and timely, in this season when it’s easy to shift our focus to what we are missing.  Invite friends to join you as we focus on all that we have and all we can do, out of love for Christ!

  • spiritual formation - book discussion groups

    Starting Thursdays at 10 am on October 1, 2020, Rev. Alex Knight will lead the discussion of two Christian classics by Gene Edwards, The Prisoner in the Third Cell and A Tale of Three KingsRegistration is required as the groups will be limited in size.  To register contact Reverend Alex Knight  Both books are available at Amazon in paperback and Kindle.

    First United Methodist Church Weekday School is enrolling now for 2020-2021 school year!  Call 828.693.6673.  We are a half-day preschool serving families of children 15 months to Transitional Kindergarten.  We look forward to speaking with you.


    The Weekday School has made a wish list for supplies for this school year.  We are excited about sharing God's love with our children!  If you would like to donate any of these items to the weekday school click here!

    Three times a week on Monday/Wednesday/Friday, our senior pastor,  Karen Easter-Bayne will be sharing 3.-5 minute, family devotionals.
