W2Kidz, a NEW program for children

W2Kidz, a NEW program for children ages 3 years to 5th grade, will begin on Wednesday, October 26 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the Children's Area downstairs. We Families are encouraged to gather for food and fellowship at Wonderful Wednesday prior to W2Kidz. Adults can then enjoy the Wonderful Wednesday program, meet in small groups, etc. while the children engage in fun, faith-building mission activities!

  • The GLOW Kids program (ages 3 years to Kindergarten) teaches God's youngest servants how to let their light shine for God, GLOWING from the inside out! They learn Biblically-based virtues through games, songs, and stories.
  • Mission Possible Kids (1st to 5th grades) empowers kids to change the world through hands-on mission projects like cooking for homeless shelters, collecting food for food banks and making gifts for kids in need!

worship offerings

Ages 6 to 12 Years - As children share in worship with their families, we offer: Children's Worship Pouches - religious coloring booklet, crayons and a pencil, blank paper for "Pew Art", and Pockets - an excellent children's devotional published by the Upper Room.

For over 60 years, The Weekday School of First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville has been touching the lives of children in Henderson County. Our church believes that each child is a child of God and should have every opportunity to develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically to the fullest potential.

It is our purpose to provide that opportunity for development through safe, nurturing care for the children and families of The Weekday School.

In 2014, we earned a North Carolina license as a religious sponsored childcare provider. This license allows to better serve the families in our care by offering extending hours beyond our morning schedule.
