  • Youth Fraser Fur Christmas Wreath Sale - Sunday, November 17

    This summer our youth will participate in a mission trip that will allow them to serve God’s people and share God’s love: Our Middle School youth will be working with PASSPORTcamps in Greenville, South Carolina and our High Schoolers will be working with the United Methodist Habitat in the Bahamas - hurricane relief, VBS, and construction.  Orders received after November 17 cannot be accepted.  Click here for details!

  • FUMC Music Events

    Sundays are a great day for Live Music. We invite you to join us the following Sundays in the Sanctuary, throughout November and December, for a broad range of music events. All events are open to the public unless otherwise noted below.

    • Sunday, November 17, 4 pm. Jazz Duo Concert
    • Sunday, November 24, 3 pm, Hendersonville Chorale concert. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
    • Sunday, December 01, 3 pm, Messiah Sing. If you would like to sing be in the Sanctuary at 2 pm.
    • Sunday, December 15, 4 pm, Pastyme in concert.
  • Winter Blessing Kits

    We are in need of supplies for our Winter Blessing Kits. Donation box is in hallway to the left of stairs near Youth Director's office. Items needed: Toothbrushes (individually wrapped), Travel-size mouthwash, Travel-size toothpaste, travel-size shaving cream, razors, travel-size deodorant, combs, socks, knit hats, gloves, and hand warmers. We can also use McDonald's gift cards (No more than $5 value), Slim Jim's, fruit and nut bars, and peanut butter cracker packets. Thank you for your generosity.   • Meals4Missions - Thursday, november 21st

    Meals4Missions is back featuring Mama Coe's comfort food!  Meal cost is $10.  Half of the $10 cost will help fund a new church outreach beginning next year to feed the food insecure in Henderson County.  Click here to order online or call the Welcome Desk at 828.692.4275.  Orders will be taken until 8 pm on Wednesdays for pickup between Thursdays. Payments may be made via cash or check at the time of pickup.   

    Your hot delicious meals will be waiting for you under the FUMC portico on Thursdays from 4:45-6 pm.  

  • Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande

    Wednesday November 20

    Join us in reading and discussing the New York Times bestselling book, Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande. When it comes to the inescapable realities of aging and death, what medicine can do often runs counter to what it should do. Dr. Gawande shares powerful research and stories intended to help readers and their families navigate the aging process. 

    The session on Wednesday, November 20 is at 6:30 pm in the Library and will be led by Rev. Christy Sharp. Books will be available at the front desk for $15 each.  

  • New bible project study begins - Sunday, November 24

    Join us for a 3-week study of Paul's Letter to the Galatians starting from 10:20 - 11:20 am, in Room 303.  This short letter presents Paul's powerful explanation of what is required to be a true Christian.  It was so important to Martin Luther that it's been called "Luther's Book."  This is an approachable study for everyone, especially those who are new to a bible class or for who it's been a long time.

  • Registration Deadline for First Kids Christmas Pageant

    Wednesday, November 27

    FUMC kids and youth (age 4 - 8th grade) will present a Christmas pageant and song during the

    ignite + Family Christmas Eve Service at 5:00 pm!

    To prepare for this exciting evening, kids and youth must attend rehearsals on Wednesdays, December 4, 11, & 18 from 4:14-5:15 pm in the Children's Area. Rehearsals are only for kids and youth who are able to attend and participate in the Christmas Eve service.

  • baby shower for jesus -- sunday, december 8

    Bring items appropriate for newborns/young infants (onesies, diapers, bottles, blankets, baby wipes, etc.) to the stage.

    All donations are going to support the Open Arms Pregnancy Center - a local non-profit ministry designed to meet the needs of women and teens who require pregnancy support and assist families who can't afford diapers or other baby supplies.

  • The Praying Hands Group

    The Praying Hands Group has two quilts hanging on the wall outside the Royal Allen Room. Please stop by tie a knot, say a prayer for Don Grant and Sherry & Keith Lindsay.

    Hospice offers specialized, comfort care to folks with life-limiting or terminal illnesses, in any place you call home. Professional hospice teams provide pain and symptom management, as well as emotional and spiritual support to patients and their family.   • Boys & Girls Club Gifting Party Needs You and New Gift Items

    We're expecting 400 youngsters on Dec. 9 and 10 to "shop" for their caregivers. It takes many hands to make the magic happen, and YOU are needed. The Volunteer Sign-up Bookdescribing ways you can serve is now available in the Welcome Area. You'll also find the shopping list there and on the Missions Bulletin Board. You can also donate, and our shopping wizards will take over. Please note "Gifting Party" on the memo line of your check.

  • Teenager Christmas Project

    The Storehouse asked us to be part of a special ministry project, "Teenager Christmas" for kids ages 13-18. They are asking for donations of $20 gift cards (not to exceed $25 per card) from various places - Walmart, Target, TJ Maxx, Marshals, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works , Local movie theaters, Local Fast Food restaurants - please no Visa or Mastercard gift cards.
