  • FUMC Reconciling Community -- Wednesday, January 22

    The FUMC Reconciling Community will meet at 6pm in Room 201 - Alma Lee Cheves Classroom. We will consider ways to advocate for social justice and full inclusiveness, discuss progress on assigned actions, and review recent developments at the denominational level. We are like-minded persons who hold fast to traditional Christian values of grace, mercy, love, and justice for all. POCs are Sam Tolbert ( and Clint Holt ( All are welcome.

  • Connie Regan-Blake, Storyteller, The Gathering -- Wednesday, January 22

    It is hard to tell sometimes whether Connie Regan-Blake is a storyteller or a comedian. Her tales provoke so much laughter from audiences that storytelling simply does not fully describe her talent. Yet, that is exactly what she is, and is proud to be. We hope you will join us and be entertained by one of the most celebrated storytellers traveling the world today, sharing folktales and true-life stories and spinning tales.

  • Meals4Missions

    Enjoy a delicious meal on Thursday evenings and help feed the food insecure in Henderson County.  In partner ship with Meals on Wheels, $5 of your meal will directly aid hunger relief for adults with physical and mental disabilities.  Thank you for support the food insecure as we work to build commmunity.

            for pickup on Thursdays. Payments may be made via cash or check at the time of pickup.  

    Your hot delicious meals will be waiting for you under the FUMC portico on Thursdays at 4pm. Half of the $10 cost will help fund a new church outreach beginning next year to feed the food insecure in Henderson County.

    Attention Ladies! Begin the New Year with a fresh start in the Word. Join us for the Beth Moore Bible Study - Jesus the One and Only - beginning Thursday, February 6 from 4-6PM in the Library, continuing for 11 weeks. This study is a careful examination of the Life of Christ, based primarily on the Book of Luke, introducing anintimate Savior and allowing you a close-up & personal portrait of the Life of Jesus the Messiah.   • "Be Our Guest", Outreach -- Coming February 2020

    First United Mehtodist Church will start a new outreach in February, "Be Our Guest." This initiative is designed to connect individuals and families to The Gathering and our discipleship programming on Wednesday nights.

    Church members will have the opportunity to purchase "Be Our Guest coupons which can be given to neighbors, visitors, or those in the community sho would benefit from a meal and fellowship. Coupons go on sale at The Gathering February 5th, for $7 each.
