  • Learn how to break the cycle of extreme poverty!

    Do you love helping children? How about empowering them help themselves? Then you should be a part of the ZOE team at FUMC. ZOE's mission is to break the cycle of extreme poverty around the world by empowering orphans and vulnerable children to become self-sustaining through food production, entrepreneurship, education and spiritual growth in a supportive group of peers.     • Note: There will be a special ZOE presentation to our congregation Sunday, July 21. This past June, a group from University UMC visited our ZOE group in Rwanda. They heard the gratitude of the group for our partnership and received two gifts for our congregation. These gifts will be presented to the church at all three services this Sunday.  
  • For the Bible Tells Me So, Sermon Series

    This summer, Pastor Mark would like to hear from you about the passages of Scripture which have sustained you; the ones that continually remind you of Jesus and His love. Six passages will then be selected-the ones receiving the most submittals-and will be our worship texts from July 7 to August 11. To submit your favorite passage and why it means so much to you click here go to the website homepage, and cursor to the banner "What's your favorite bible verse" and complete a form . Hard copies are also available at the Welcome Desk and can be left with the receptionist.  

  • Eight Week Course - Book of Revelation

    Join us for an in-depth study of this difficult book of the Bible.

    • Tuesdays, 10:00-11:30am and 1:00 - 2:30pm
    • August 6 thru September 24.

    Taught by Bea Fosmire, this 8-week course will reveal Jesus as communicating with the reader, inspecting the churches, involved in the world, victorious in conflict & encouraging in consummation.   • New Parent Small Group: Goliath Must Fall   

    Join us Sundays, July 16 - August 18 at 10:10am in Room 402 for this six week study. Pastor Louie Giglio uncovers a newfound twist in the classic story of David and Goliath.   • Prayers for Pastor Christy & Her Family!

    Pastor Christy will be on family leave from July 15 thru August 30. Please hold Christy and her family up with your thoughts and prayers. Out of respect for her family, please refrain from phone calls. A collection box has been placed at the Welcome Desk for your heartfelt words of care, love and encouragement. We look forward to Pastor Christy's return in September.

  • Art Display, Gallery Hall of the Music Ministry

    Featuring Artist - Peggy Edwards Jones

    Peggy Jones has painted in the medium of watercolor since 1996. She loves painting God's landscapes, flowers, lakes, oceans, skies and especially trees. She gives God the glory for this gift of art. Peggy's watercolor art will be on display in the Gallary Hall until September.

  • 19th Annual Juried Art and Craft Festival

    Members and marketing assistants are needed for this year's festival which will be held in the BCLC on Saturday, November 2. We raised $1,500 last year for the 5th Avenue Fund that aids residents of our apartments. Our goal this year is $3,000.

    Gift of Giving Party Boys & Girls Club

    Christmas is coming! And so is our Gift of Giving Party for the Boys & Girls Club. Our Party will be bigger than ever as we adapt to the growing B & G Club. This year, we'll open our doors twice so that all Boys & Girls Club members can "shop" for gifts to give to their caregivers. Party dates are Dec. 9 and Dec. 10. Thanks to volunteers from FUMC and Grace Lutheran Church, this double-header event will be as successful and meaningful for the children as always. Save both dates!
